Depends do you want the car for what’s left of summer ? That interior is sub optimal tbh car exterior is great ..have patience would be my advice if you’re spending £140k plus you have to be happy with what you buy …comfort seats and too much leather really wouldnt appeal and you have to look at it all the time when driving …that’ll grate if you’re dubious about it right now!

ive mulled over this all night and i think the interior is putting me off..... and i agree im P/Xing something i LOVE, im going to go and see it but im not sold on the interior spec at all. ive got plenty of time and i think im rushing myself because i saw a low mile example and got the p/x roughly where i wanted it to be.

I wouldn’t get to hung up about the mileage , there’s a premium on its price for that, as soon as you start using it properly ( which they need) that premium will be wiped out..

New Forest just sold a coupe for £128k, I think it was a year newer but had much less carbon than this example and 10k miles more, but they would still have had a big margin in that car, so you've got to reallllllly love this one to pay that price for it just for some additional perspective

Good colour, 10K less miles and a few carbon packs can easily add £15K on to the asking price on a 600LT, if this one had a decent interior fit for the car I don’t think it’s a million miles away for the asking ( paintwork out of warranty and 3rd party warranty on running gear is off putting though )

I’d of thought more round the £140K mark tbh, it’s coming up 6 years old a service due on the horizon and I’m not really sure about the warranty Redline provide, never heard anyone say it’s robust or anything, generally it Mclaren or Thorney if you go outside the dealer network.. it’s what’s right for you at the end of the day but I’m not convinced you think it’s the right car ,,,

i LOVE the 600LT , its my DREAM car - but in general im not so sure on mclaren as a brand, the more research i'm doing the more itchy my feet are getting - im concerned its going to be a problem between paintwork and general reliability. May i ask what your experience has been over the years?

no more than ferrari/lamborghini etc.

The car in question is very punchy for the overall spec. you'd likely get one form a Mclaren dealer for that.

No issues whatsoever in 12 months of ownership,, I bought approved used, the car has always been under Mclaren warranty and has wanted for nothing, mines done just over 12K miles so everything gets nicely warmed up and oiled regularly

I think it's fair to say that mechanically they are similarly reliable to Ferrari and Lamborghini (i.e. drivetrain components) but without a doubt you'd visit the dealer more for some more obscure issues like electric niggles, paintwork, and suspension components etc seem to wear out twice as fast - so they require more ongoing maintenance. Especially apparent when compared to Lamborghini with the solid Audi build quality to take advantage of.

On the flip side Ferrari servicing is more expensive and Lamborghini servicing can be as much as 2 - 3x more, so when you factor that in it's all swings and roundabouts. The Mac warranty is also more comprehensive than the Ferrari one so I echo the point of the poster above that you can get main dealer cars for much less than the Redline one

Paint bubbling is a pain if it happens.

But other than that, neither of my 650s have / had any more problems than Ferrari's etc. I've owned before (in fact, my 360 destroyed a top end due to a known design fault).
I was entirely happy to let the extended warranty lapse on my first 650, and my current one doesn't have extended warranty either. I consider mine very reliable.
