An upgrade to the 675lt wheel with extended carbon paddles makes all the difference.
What was different?

I don’t think extended paddles would really make any difference, they are perfectly placed in the 650s.

The steering wheel is entirely trimmed in thick alcantara, which addresses Harry's main concern.

For me, the driving experience was enhanced. The paddles are big, carbon, and feel great. Of course subjective. Having driven with both I massively preferred it.

The only MSO part that would bug me is the large logo on the door sill. That would be removed straight away........
That really is gash and cheapens the car imo when on show. I appreciate he may want to keep the originality but I'm sure it could be moved or reduced in size to somewhere less obvious. It will be interesting to see how he gets on with it.

I’m looking forward to seeing a drive / review video if he does one on his local roads, to see how he thinks it compares to the more modern cars he’s reviewed there.

I bought a 675LT wheel with extended paddles for my 12C. It set me back £1,500. Would not normally spend that much on such a small item BUT it made a massive difference to the my perception of the car and how it felt. Next to bucket seats, the steering wheel can make a big difference to your enjoyment. I now have a 675LT so I sold the wheel with my 12C. Not sure what they cost now? But it was worth it.

its the extended paddles that make all the difference and where some of the cost is. Plus the re-trims you see advertised at £199 really are not of the quality for a supercar (from what I have heard). There is always value in an original wheel if you re sell too.

I have the same wheel as Frankychops but do fancy the extended paddles. I see there are stick on extenders but feel the proper paddles would be best.

I can't see the stick on looking or feeling right, in any way?

well done Harry. I can not believe the convergence of pricing in the used Mcl market with super series and sport series. 650s really does seem pick of the range in terms of bang for buck. Incredible daily driveable supercar. I bet Harry piles on the miles as looking at his fantastic garage the Mcl the one I'd choose for touring every day of the week. Even for the sprints, hill climbing etc he occasionally does bet he uses the Mcl smile

Did you swop the CF in the wheel for the 650s CF? I think the 675LT's are all matt (or satin) carbon. I think i did same on my 12C but was 8 years ago so cant remember?

Nope, not at all. TBH, it drives fine and I am getting used to it, just the looks really.

Never been a fan of the extended paddles. I know they're popular, but I find the normal size work perfectly and are much neater.

Having said that - I've never really paid much attention to mine, but this thread made me look at them yesterday and I was a bit surprised they're not carbon. I was quite happy until I noticed!

^ looks the same as the Sports Series with the 'carbon driving zone' option (which includes the extended carbon shift paddles)

most Sports Series seem to be specified with these, which might make them more readily available for any 650S owners who want, assuming they truly are the same part and there's not some wiring shenanigans.

Surely there’s a way to ‘wrap’ the decals with some tint to calm the YELLOW.

Gorgeous car. Certainly had me back in the Mac section of the classifieds.
