So I rang the dealer, said car was on SoR and that it had missed a service but was now up to date and so couldn’t get McLaren warranty. He’s offering their own Platinum warranty for £2700 and saying can’t budge on sticker price on car so I’ve not gone to view it as bit of a trek and ascot McL have got one on lower miles and newer for 125k. Will go and have a look at that on the weekend.

I posted 2 weeks ago confirming the missed service in its history when I saw it for sale last year. I'd say if you're serious about getting it then get it inspected and save the £2,700 as the "platinum" warranty might end up being essentially worthless.

A car in bad condition could easily throw up main dealer health-check bills in excess of £20-30k without breaking a sweat e.g. suspension arms, dampers, accumulators, brakes, tyres etc before looking into more serious issues like coolant leaks, aircon & oil leaks etc. A good independent could sort them for a fraction of the main dealer quoted costs but go in with your eyes open. There's always a reason why a car is priced well below the market at an obscure dealership
