If you are out there I would just like to thank the driver of the lime green Miura that was out on the outskirts of bridgnorth this past Sunday. 2020 has left me mostly out of work with a new daughter and just the general crap that this year has managed to provide everyone, it sucks. Seeing the Miura go past me took me back to being a carefree teenager. It's one of those cars I had resigned myself to never ever seeing in the wild and those few seconds as it passed me by were the highlight of at least my last six months! Fantastic to see such a car being used, I was born in '86 so the Diablo was my poster car but as I have gotten older and seen the various decades of car design pass by the Miura grew into that one car that can really, properly, bring me to my knees. I live in hope that I may pass you again!
I will continue working hard knowing what the possibilities could be, as a hardcore Lambo fan a Gallardo will suffice!

It'll be all right in the end.I will continue working hard knowing what the possibilities could be, as a hardcore Lambo fan a Gallardo will suffice!
And if it's not all right
...it isn't the end.
I have to agree with the OP in that 2020 will go down in history as one of the shtiest years ever.. The one saving grace is that we are the fortunate ones to see the end of it and the start of 2021. Next year will bounce back thanks to Boris's skills at brinkmanship and the mass vaccination of vulnerable people.
I also agree that the Miura has to be one of the best designed cars ever and designed in a couple of weeks by Marcello Gandini.

Hi DomBertone ,
Great car the Miura .... and especially inspirational / aspirational in Twiggy Lime Green .
Great PH name for a Gandini / Lambo/ Bertone fan too .
Yes , 2020 has been a bummer , but with your comment re hard work and your obvious can do attitude , I suspect that a Gallardo ( and that 670SV in your fantasy garage ) may not be so far away .
And anyway you already have something even more precious in your daughter !!
Take care , best of luck , and here's looking to a better 2021 for all of us .

I have found that general consensus from the public is that super car drivers are show offs or snobs or both,
Judging by the above sentiments that could not be any further from the truth.
What a nice bunch of guys you all are .
Not much i can add only to kick 2020 into touch and look forward to a positive happier 2021 .
Congratulations on your your baby daughter Dombertone. and yes the Miura does make your knees go weak ,
It's so achingly beautiful . Make mine a SV please.

Every now and again a thread on Pistonheads restores my faith in humanity and the petrol head community! It's not all about deviated stitching and future residual values...
2020 and can 'do one' - here's to better times ahead. And a chance to drive more frequently the cars that bring us all such joy.

I also feel like a teenager again when I see a classic supercar on the road! It's such a rare sight, where I live at least.
I'm always interested to see the modern stuff too but they don't get the blood going like something old and rare.
It doesn't even need to be something like a Miura either. I remember following a BMW 2002 Tii across London. How often do you see them these days? Or following a very early 911S on my way to Falmouth. Or my eyes popping out when I saw a beautiful red Dino parked up alone in the layby near my home.
I'm fortunate enough to own some great machinery myself now, however it always brightens the day to see someone else out enjoying theirs.
Best wishes to you OP, you won't have long to wait for your very own Lambo!

The place; Rootes Group Styling studio Whitley plant. The year 1967.
I was in a presentation from a company which produced body trim pieces, mostly made from mazac.
And there, pride of place, displaying their latest technology were the headlamp surrounds (eye lashes) - attached to a green Muira!
I cannot say that the mazac impressed me, other than the frivolity of that particular application.
But the car, that did leave an impression. One of my treasured memories.

When these moments occur they really can be quite special and indeed, make your day. One that springs to mind for me was from a few years ago, I was driving one of our company cars down to Oxford to work a train back to Brum one morning, I was on the long flat stretch of road near Tackley when I saw something very unusual coming towards me at a cracking pace, as it got closer I recognised it instantly, it was Steve McQueen's Ferrari 250 Lusso that had been at Oselli for some attention, the noise it made as it swept past me was fantastic.
Even the 'lesser' classics can have a similar effect if they are rare enough, just before Christmas I spotted a Biturbo era Maserati saloon which perked my day up no end.
OP, best of luck and try to stay positive, PH can be a strange, volatile place sometimes but threads like this are often a real tonic and an antidote to all the bile seen elsewhere

Great thread this one. Back in the late 90s I used to drive my trusty Rover up the A1 to work every day...a fairly dispiriting 90 minute commute. One morning I spotted something low, wide and red in my rear view mirror...first instinct, wind down the window, and watch a Ferrari Testarossa sweep by me and accelerate off into the distance. God it lifted my spirits. When I got to the office I told my colleagues about my excitement at this sighting. Not one of them even remotely 'got it'. Bloody philistines!

They sound like my brother,he's on his 3rd black Golf ( not a GTI ) never cleans it or puts it away in his garage and as long as his Golf clubs and trolley fit he's a happy chappy,He can't understand why i got so many useless cars that his clubs won't fit in let alone a trolley as well.

I've just watched that again............ Great thread, any thread with the word Miura as the title gets my attention straight away - always has been and always will be my ultimate dream car
I finally got to sit in one in 2016 at the Pendle Power Fest show, that year the theme was the Italian Job, and I will be forever grateful to the owner
Don't suppose if you noticed if it was RHD or LHD?
The RHD example I sat in is owned and driven by a lovely lady who had not only driven it a couple of hundred miles to attend the charity show, she had used it in a hill climb the previous day and suffered a minor dent in the front wing.
A couple of years later she and her son were featured in a magazine article on car collections, from memory they have over 30 including an AC428, Iso Grifo, Miura and XJ220

I did think that this was the example the OP saw near Bridgnorth.
