Lamborghini Silhouette
Discussion
A few Maserati owners from the south east met up at the "Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum" over the weekend and we were joined by a very nice Lamborghini Silhouette.

It was great to see the car and learn a few things about it. This particular car was the first production car and a motor show car.
A number of the Maserati guys who attended are on the sports Maserati page but many are not. When we meet it is normally arranged by email / text as it is all fairly low key / relaxed. A few are planning to meet on Friday evening down in Kent although I now can't make this one.
Normally I post some photos on the forum in the link above - I guess it would probably be worth me posting prior to the event too.
"HIS LM" what do you have?

Interesting history I see it's a left hooker euro spec or US ?A number of the Maserati guys who attended are on the sports Maserati page but many are not. Sadly I am also unable to make this Friday but I would be interested in a future event
I have 2 Quattroporte (GT and a GTS) and looking for a GTS MC shift
I love the Bentley trust place; strangest mix of cars ...and ducks, too. Best cake ever in the cafe as well!
That Silhouette is something of a regular at Goodwood events, seen it a few times. Must be local(ish) though Bentley is just over the "wrong" side of the Sussex divide
Oddly, for a car that only sold (I believe) 50-odd worldwide, it's not the only Silhouette I've seen at Goodwood 'do's

40006 is from London. The other is 40052. Both are are regularly driven. Indeed what better excuse than an early start on a crisp clear Sunday morning with the heater on and the roof off?
Quite so I take it from the numbers you quote, there were more than fifty made then? Or did the Urracco count towards Silhouette numbers (or vice/versa)? As I recall, the one was a development of the other.
I guess I shouldn't be lazy and look on Wikipedia but I'd trust the answer of an expert-owner on here rather than the depths of Wiki
Just in case no one has ever read this, (shame on you!)...

I have the original, (missing Chapter 7), squirreled away somewhere; what a wonderful read.

Can I just make comment that the Silhouette just looks so right from so many angles, and it must be a drivers delight when driven with the top off and the V8 wailing in the background on a beautiful summers day (or evening).
The Silhouette is like a baby Countach, it rarely shows its face, but when it does it is pretty unforgettable. Actually come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I have seen more Countachs on the road and track than the Silhouette.
Absolutely lovely car... I want one!

Anyone driven a Silhouette and a Jalpa back to back? What's the difference, if any?
Both fantastic looking machines. Aren't they both essentially Uraccos with differing body kits/wheels?(Jalpa has a 3.5 litre engine)
