Greetings all

Suggestions please -

I've owned Jalpa 12029 since 2005. Before then it was in the UK and prior to that in the UAE and Qatar, where it was originally delivered to. I'm based in Dubai so, in a way, the car has come 'home'.

Thing is: I now want to give it a complete, proper restoration.

I'm looking at the UK as first option (I'm from England), or possible Italy (factory / nearby specialists?).

I'd really appreciate any pointers - recommendations, personal experiences, good & bad.

Many thanks for any input -

NtateRob

Ntaterob,
all depends how far you want to go and how deep your pockets are !

Carrosserie.co.uk, near me in the North East have restored Miuras and various Ferraris previously and are currently rebuilding the OSR of my Diablo, which was not repaired very well previously. Engine wise Colin Clarke was used for the Miura.

Another thought for the engine is Mike Pullen in Sussex.

I've also heard that Lamborghini Crevalcore do restorations, using original factory personnel, but I've only used them once in an emergency with a friends car.

Hope this helps

As already mentioned, how far do you want to go and what involvement do you want to have in it?

There are plenty of one stop shops, but I've restored my Jalpa using a bunch of specialists, painters, trimmers, etc and doing some of the donkey work my self. Stuff like sourcing parts, etc.

Does it really need a full restoration? I was told mine needed a respray and a whole bunch of other bits, when a decent detailer managed to fix all of the problems...

Interior wise, if your looking to keep as much original (sympathetic restoration) then drop these a message

If the interior is generally good and you want it factory fresh looking but with added protection then its worth having it restored.
