I've got photos of B502WYE from 1987. I'll try and post some soon.
Can't help with the others though sadly.

Had no idea that CYC31C was the same car as A663, I took photos of it as CYC from Castle Combe years back, despite the colour combo I never pieced them as the same car.

This really is turning into an amazing thread.

Cheers

No It was nothing to do with the film. Walter Wolf of the ex F1 team tweaked a countach and put the new Pirelli P7 tyres on it. he also put a large wing on the back. this was then picked up and many put similar onto theirs until the factory realised they could make a lot of money selling these at £3500 each but fitted by the customer as they didn't meat regs.
They have absolutely no benefit in handling or stability, they are only for show and increase drag and reduce top speed by about 10-15mph. I have only taken mine up to 160mph so I haven't tried to max it out. I have had invites to the Race the Runway events, but couldn't make the dates. I will try though and it would be fun to try with and without. the main problem with these cars is not how fast they go, but how slowly they stop!
Hope this helps.
Paul
Thanks Paul, not too sure where I got the cannonball run connection from then, perhaps I dreamt it. scratchchin

Cheers!

Here is B502WYE from 1987. I've been busy scanning so will hopefuly have more of other cars coming up here over the next few days.

The guy standing against the car is the owner...I'll never forget him gettng the car phone out of the boot. It was a phone receiver on top of a car battery! Just brilliant.

Enjoy!

Rob Capp. 185EXY was on a QV as well, and he also had a pearl Anniversary.

B502WYE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW. That is amazing that you have a photo of that car. I can't believe it. I knew it existed but it is one of the mystery ones.

If you have any cars you can't ID or want to know the history of, do post a picture and I can look into. Most of the pre-88 cars seem to have an amazing story behind them, especially as they have gone through so many different personal number plates, owners, speculators, colour changes etc

CYC31C A663SUV etc - it seems to be the only red/red car. Have you even noticed that Vic Sawyer's red Countach QV has red wing mirrors, where all the others have black wing mirrors. No idea why, not sure if it was a special option.

Pick a colour, any colour - green.

There were two RHD green Anniversary Countachs - one is Emerald Green and one was a darker green.

There is also a light green RHD Countach which wears the number plate B1USH. Apologies - this is the best pic I could find of this one. Photo is from when Portman linked up with Bramshaw and was in Bournmouth for a while.

I keep finding more....

Here are G452TYU and G453TYU to complete the gang of 4 red TYU Countachs.

A better picture of the gorgeous light green QV.

one of my favorites - Countach and F40 filling up at Silverstone

...and 185EXY on a QV, that must have followed on from the 5000S above.

These two Anniversary Countachs are in Portman's showroom on 27th January 1989. They are third and fourth Anniversaries imported BR33 and F928OYR respectively. These were the best of some very bad quality photos that day.

And finally, we have one of the three Metallic purple Anniversarys supplied in RHD.

Glad you like the B502 snaps. It's one quite special for me as it was the first countach I ever saw close up.

I've got pics of 185EXY on the pearl QV too which I can post up at some point.

It must be quite a challenge keeping up with these cars changing their identity so often!!

It's tricky, but just a matter of keeping a record of all the little bits of info that people say, (like the white/red car becoming black/black earlier in the thread)....

All I@m trying to do is find which car is which so I can tell each individual RHD Countach apart. It's a tricky obsession!

It's photos of 5000S and QVs from the early to mid 1980s which are the biggest help. It's great to see other people so generous with sharing their photos!

It's so good that a real passion of the Countach can be shared. I saw my first one in my home town of Bolton!!...around 1980...it looked like nothing else...and I had to have one...one day. It did take 25 years and owned it for about 6 years.

Ok..more photos..........

Right, the rummaging through my vast photo library continues...

I just like this shot, makes Portman look massive, haha!
From July 1988, the car didn't yet have it's number plates on but it had black interior, if that helps;

September 1988 - QV in light green with dark-ish red interior;

February 1989 - BR33 Anniversary at Portman;

September 1989 - G451TYU at Castle Coombe;

August 1990 - Pearlescent QV at Portman - D351GYX;

February 1991 - Number plate ends in LYY, I thinks it's E181LYY..?

July 1991 - One I caught out in the wild in London;

There's plenty more to come....

Oh go on then, last few for tonight, a rather splendid low-body 400S at the Miura 40th Anniversary (and Ferruccio's 90th anniversary) doo in Brighton, May 2006.
