Now that is lovely. A Lambo 350 GTV? Never heard of it, or seen it before.

Are there many in existence or is this extremely rare I wonder?

Dinkel/Toppstuff:

I am looking for colour pics of the Marzal and the Bertone Pirana as they were in the 60s. All my reference stuff is black and white.

That concours pic of the Marzal in white may well be the original colour (would like to know interior colour)

Can you help??

P.

It was a prototype, so there may be just one . . . I had a purple Matchbox.

Bertone Pirana became the Espada . . .

Between the Marzal and the Espada, this ugly mutt was created - thank the Lord for the Pirana that cleaned up the side view!

Here's a 2000 concept sketch of project L149, the Espada successor.

Dinkel.

No, I don't want one - it sure does look like a Ford Focus coupe. It's more evidence of plot loss since the 60s/70s.

Mind you that 5000GT thing is one UGLY SOB - the plot went AWOL sometimes in the 60s too.

What the hell is that V12 from???? Wild air intake!

Great thread, however it has made me want to look back over my 'supercars' top trumps from the 70's. I think I may be in the loft for some time trying to locate them.

If I find them then I should be able to add the typical top trumps stats to some of the exotica.

Shifting things on a few years how about these two gems? The Cizeta Moroder was if I’m correct the bastard off spring of Diablo. With a transverse mounted V16 sporting either two or four turbo’s as well. I think its rather understated, maybe not!

“Pah, seen one in Lidl’s car”

For those who find it rather humble how could you pass one of these by? Take one perfectly decent Diablo, re-cloth it and make it loads more expensive, they’ll be breaking the door down to sign up. Folks the Mont Carlo Automobile GTB, yes really!!!!

Only 7 were built of which 1 survives apparently, an all time first for pistonheads?

Speaking of Eastern European exotica, does anyone remember the Tatra MTX concept (from CZ I think):

Nothing ever came of it as far as I know

Yep, seen it before.

Tatra has a very interesting history. Before WW2 they were one of the most advanced and briliant makers out there in terms of engineering. IIRC they even had a model who had a cd of 0,21. And a little known fact: it appears that the beatle was not an inspired creation of Dr. Porsche but a blatant copy of a Tatra model.

Then the commies came... Some years ago they were still producing an air-cooled V8.

Edited to add photos:

The streamlined Tatra 77a (the 0,21 cd thing):

It's a 5000GT going really wild . . . I count 8 intake-pipes: it's a souped up v8 . . . I guess from the 5000GT.

This Tipo 33 Stradale is the street version of the Tipo 33 racing car. The engine of the car was ahead of its time, producing 115 hp/liter. Only 18 were ever produced.

1261 lbs, Mid-Engine/RWD, 6-Speed Manual
1995 cc V8, 230 bhp @ 8800 rpm, 148 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm, 0-60 mph: 5.5 sec, 174 mph

WOW!! The scale of that car is beautiful! I had figured it to be about the same size as say the Miura, or possibly larger. To see it on the road with driver, and then get it into perspective is stunning!

Just beautiful!

In the 60's and 70's all I wanted was European car magazines, just for these type of photos.

Thank you all and "Well Done"!!

More please??
