Its nice Topstuff, but to me its saying more Aston then Ferrari,
Its only a 2 litre or a 2.4 litre 6 cylinder Ferrari engine underneath.
So its not even an Aston competitor. It was a relatively affordable car.
That it remains so pretty ( like a car from a class above ) is a great acheivement I think.

Nice one McNab.
Now chaps, i appeal to you all.
Consider the different 4 seater GT coupes over the years. Is'nt this the most gorgeous car? I don't think its proportions and styling have been bettered yet.
Think of GT coupes these days - Celicas, Calibras, Ford Cougars and all that dross. And then feast on the Fiat Dino - its simply better looking is'nt it?
Progress? Pah !
sweet, you can see a bit of Jensen in there too
Now, we `ve seen both the guilietta SZ and the modern SZ but has anyone got a picture of a 2600SZ?. For my money, a distinctly underrated machine.
The Fiat Dino is a fantastic looking car. Fortunately, my fathers was black, just like the one in the Italian Job. Unfortunately, he owned it in the eighties so my school chums remained unimpressed!
Perhaps we ought to have a seperate section for odd and esoteric exotica on the forum?

[FastShow]I'm terribly sorry, but I've just come...[/FastShow]
As someone pointed out earlier, Bugatti is French, but they're still Italian enough that I think a few of their masterpieces should be displayed:
Bugatti 41 "Royale":
Bugatti 41 "Napoleon"
Bugatti Esders:
Bugatti 57:
All housed at the Schlumpf Motor Museum in Mulhouse, Alsace... The sheer size of the Bugatti 41s is just amazing. They make a Rolls look small...

I must confess to a blind spot where Bugatti are concerned. My radar is not tuned to them ...
Teach me , Obi Wan....
I'm certainly no expert and wasn't a huge fan, but a long afternoon spent wandering around the Schlumpf certainly opened my eyes to some fantastic cars. People like Ettore Bugatti are very special and even though in the end he failed to make Bugatti a viable concern, he left some quite fantastic motor cars behind. Cars built with no compromises. It is almost ironic that his greatest creations, the Type-41 Royales and Napoleons, were in part his downfall...
Thanks for the 2600SZ Dinkel - beauifully odd!
Bugatti probably deserves a seperate thread but suffice it to say they are responsible for some of the most important, impressive and down right gorgeous machinery to be built, ever. Importantly the type 41 Royales above were entirely uncharactersitic of ettores products (something that VW haven`t yet worked out).
For more info` try www.bugatti.co.uk and look up the bugatti trust.
