Buying an Aventador - pls help

Hi all,
I'm considering buying an aventador and I was wondering if you can please share with me some advice on what to look for and additional costs I should take into account. Obviously it's very expensive and I just want to make sure I have covered all the known knowns.. The model I'm looking at is several years old and not under the lambo warranty but I understand I can purchase/extend it.
1. optically the car looks fine etc. but is there anything additional I should check? are there any serious red flags I should confirm on the mechanics of the car?
2. Are aventadors failures (engine/electronics) very common to reconsider my choice? I read on some online forum something small goes wrong and the whole engine needs to come out.
3. What is the typical cost of a service per year? does it HAVE to be a lambo outlet?
4. Other than insurance, service, petrol etc, are there any other major costs involved (ignoring basic knowns like parking etc.) - I just don't want to find myself 3 months down the line with some unexpected large expense.
5. One last question that I didn't check at the dealer - I know aventadors have a reverse back camera - but do they also have the standard sensors you find on other cars?

If not a Lambo dealer check the terms of the warranty very carefully including gearbox and ancillary parts and you 100% must have it thoroughly inspected.

I'm assuming it has to be a third party as otherwise having mechanics of the dealer inspecting it would have some baised views? If it is a third party mechanic, it has to be a lambo specialist? and how is the inspection done exactly - the carry is taken to the mechanic for inspection before I buy or the mechanic visits the dealer showroom? sorry if its a dumb question - i've never done anything like this before.

Apologies, I intentionally have not disclosed the full details of the car. I just don't know who views these forums and I might hurt my offer conversations if disclose too much. I hope that makes sense, sorry if it's a bit odd. But it's a S model 2017, there is also an SV model. both are under 10k milage. When you say get a professional to go check it, what do you mean exactly. like I call third party mechanic to turn up at the showroom to inspect it? or have the car delivered to the mechanic for a full inspect? Is that what you mean? because obviously having the dealer inspecting it themselves is a bit odd and I could not fully trust (esp if it's a non lambo dealer).
Also how much does this professional inspection cost? and I assume it is done after my offer is fully accepted or I can request it before I agree it all?

Have it checked by a Lambo main dealer who will then also be able to advise on a warranty. Doing it properly at this stage may save you many thousands in the long term.1. It's not a lamdo dealer. You first need to decide what car you want out of the 2. The SV and S (LP740) are two VERY different cars. The S is what I have and is the pick of the 2 IMHO if you are looking for a good drive. The SV is a track focussed weapon and what I would call “Extreme”! A proper neck and back breaker the ride is extremely harsh.
Lambo authorised dealers are desperate to buy back these cars where the provenance is solid and they do offer top dollar for cars with the right spec and then go on to sell them for top dollar too! So IMHO cars that are at independents most likely have something not right (missing service, bodywork not up to standard or a respray etc) so you would need a full inspection.
Any Aventador S without a warranty can be inspected by a Lambo dealer and then they can apply the warranty on it - the process costs around £8k with the inspection but its bloody worth it.
I personally would stick to finding a car at a authorised dealer as they come with 12 months warranty and I managed to negotiate another year on mine so had 24 months with rock solid peace of mind! Like someone said above, one thing wrong and you could soon be looking at a £25k bill. A warranty would cover this.
Clutch’s on these are pretty robust and usually last around 18-20k miles if the car has not lived in a city like Central London.
Tyres are expensive. Servicing depends on big or small. Small circa £2k big circa £4-6k depending on what needs to be done.
Try to find one with the highest spec possible and be willing to pay more for these as cars dripping in carbon are way more desirable and VERY rare as carbon options on these cost a fortune when new.
Overall the car is bloody fantastic and at £250k there is NOTHING on the road that matches the sheer drama of owning this beast. Do it YOLO!

Thats not how it works on these as no Aventador is a daily driver! Most of them are weekend cars and tucked away in the winter too. 4 miles per day is not healthy for any car !
Lower the miles better as you can drive and enjoy them more as the higher mile cars are very hard to shift!

If it's got to be an S or SV, 2017 with less than 10,000 miles, here's one from Lambo Leeds with a 24 month warranty, full dealership history, rear camera & front and rear sensors, full PPF as an example of buying through a main dealer. Perhaps the price is too high compared to the one's which you are considering, or you don't like the Nero Pulso matt paint or part red interior.

unfortunately I do live in central london. Is that really risky? It would be a weekend (not even drive every weekend) car maybe at most do 30 miles. you think it's a big risk?

I have thought a lot about it. No I have not owned a super car before.
it's basically dream since I was young and now I can afford it. I'm just over 35 - the more i think of it I don't want to really drive it when im 60. It's just for the big experience of owning one.
unfortunately I live in central london.

also can you actually buy a warranty from them if the car is 6-7 years old or it has to be relatively newer?
