1993 Diablo clutch
Discussion
Dear all
What options are there for clutches for a 1993 2wd Diablo? I know on a 92 Diablo I once had it had a new Murcielago clutch, which was light and smooth, so I know Diablos aren't stuck with just the one OEM choice (currently at £2k on eurospares), but I don't know what makes are compatible. Anyone know what the choice is?

Original clutch is a Sachs clutch and the thrust bearing has been on back order for some time and is very expensive. Best option is to fit the later system (Valeo) but does require some mods to do it, but it a very worthwhile change. Where are you based? What options are there for clutches for a 1993 2wd Diablo? Why do you think you need a new clutch?
It’s just I thought I did but turned out I didn’t.
There was some dirt/rubbish down in the gear leaver slots which was why I had trouble engaging certain gears.
It feels like it's slipping, but really slipping. I bear it in mind thought, it certainly would be nice if it was a false alarm. It’s just I thought I did but turned out I didn’t.

You’ve obviously got a different issue.
My '93 car had a Murci clutch fitted before I bought it and that seems to work very well.
I sat in a car with an original clutch and could not believe how heavy it was by comparison!!
Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport (who is based at Haywards Heath) would be worth calling. He is a mechanic rather than a dealer and is not only an expert but also realistic about keeping the cars going using ingenuity rather than wonga
