Been looking at Aventadors for a couple of years , finally bit the bullet and got one. The car has all the theatre that I've been looking for. Wanted a mid engined car and started off with a deposit on the Mclaren 720s but changed direction and went with the Lamborghini instead. I suppose growing up with the cannon ball run films and ubiqutous Coutach poster I had to scratch the Italian V12 mid engined iitch.

Lovely colour, and spec.
If you decide to make it louder, I can recommend a 'brilliant exhaust' - that is the branded name, and sounds better than all the other more well known brands.
Sadly mine is out of action as awaiting parts from Italy on a 6-8 week delay.
If you ever get the message 'catalyst overheat' come on multiple times and going into limp mode - you will need the following fix -
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163983...

Sadly, this is not a recall, and has to be done at the owners cost (unless your car is under main dealer warranty)
Many cars suffer this issue. Sadly long delay in getting these parts in.

The following car just sold in 1 day of it being advertised...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202205095...

Strong market on Aventadors at the minute, They are much more usable than people think, mine now on 17.5k miles.

If a cat warning light comes on, switch off and go home on the back of a truck?
Kinda true for any car.
If the cats break up, it’s expensive

Thanks for the heads up, the blue one on autotrader simliar to my car in spec . My car has main dealer extended warranty - Is this something I could get them to do under the warranty or is it one of those they can only fix when the fault comes up under their warranty... As you said remarkably usable car , i thought it would be pig to drive but so far ahead of the Murcielago LP640 I had the pleasure of driving on a track a few years ago .

They are a pig to drive in the very slow stop/start traffic - they really dont like it, must be the single clutch mostly, but on a warm day the engine can heat up very quickly. But on the move, no different to anything else.

TSB (Technical Service Bulliton's) apparently these will only be carried out once the problem rears it's head.
Many aventadors seem to suffer the issue I linked to, the job is only approx 1.5 hours labour to fix, parts approx £1,100, issue is waiting for the parts to do the job.
It is just moving the postion of the sensors at the end of the day with new temperature probes (thermocouples).
It is also referred to as a 'cold junction' repair.
My dream car was LP640 roadster for a very long time, but when I got the funds in place, I bought the most recent aventador I could afford due to extensive research on murci's and the out come being very off putting with regard to reliability issues suffered with this model.
Also I still had some original warranty left on my car when purchased, which was required when I needed a whole new gearbox! (33k repair)
There has been quite a few death's / nasty accident's that really put me off the Murcie platform also.
Aventador S is a great car, and is not just a poser's / straight line performance car like some people assume.
I am keeping mine, and will only sell it to swap into an AV S roadster / SVJ roadster if the funds allow.
Only ever drive it in manual with the paddles, and do not reverse up any steep gradient's / hills.
Also top tip I got from someone on here is to continue filling the fuel tank after multiple clicks, as you can easily put another 10-15 litres of fuel in.

The Murcie is a pussycat compared to an early Diablo.

Rather than change the exhaust I have always unplugged the vacuum valves which keeps the engine sounding great at all times. Sure it can be a bit annoying for the neighbor's early in the morning but sod em! (-: BTW if anyone says it will throw up a fault on the dash it wont in my experience.

I have a remote valve controller installed! As soon as I leave my street I turn the valves to fully open biggrin cost me £800ish fitted but fully reversible and not detectable.

Lovely Aventador colour. It does suit that blue. It's still the best sounding V12 in production today and whilst I'm a Ferrari fan and the 812 makes a great noise, it's not as atmospheric as the Aventador.
