Murcielago horn
Discussion
My cars horn is doing my frigging head in, its way too sensitive. The smallest amount of pressure on the wrong part of the steering wheel and the horn blasts. Usually going around corners. Its really becoming embarrassing. People think im beeping them, I get confused and sometimes angry looks. Surely mine cant be the only car with a sensitive horn? Has anyone managed to desensitise theirs? Or is it something im gonna have to live with.
With your car being the airbag model, your horn setup should run through the slip ring or pigtail module, plus you should have a separate ground wire in there too. So maybe your ground wire is too close to some other metal in there, and making each touch very sensitive because it's close to other metal, or there is an issue with the slip ring? Isn't really anything else in there that would control pressure as such.
Slip ring isn't too expensive, around £145 plus vat.

Only proper way to diagnose is to remove the airbag and inspect the earth, slip ring and rear of the airbag itself. The horn on some models/manufacturers, is controlled by the airbag being pushed in on springs, this in turn touches metal and sounds the horn. Others have a sandwich type setup within the airbag, which again, under pressure 2 metal points touch and horn sounds.
I've not seen the back of the Murcielago airbag to see what its like.
