...if each member can be logged in through several computers at the same time? If so can you trace the computers ID?
I just thought about this since I think I have forgotten to log out from some PCs but I can't remember where.

If you clicked the 'remember me' option then it will keep a cookie and effectively keep you logged on.

Yes, I do record IP addresses although if you're going through a proxy then they may be the same for all the computers on one site.

Does that mean that you can tell when I make posts using different nicknames??

Ah, so that's what the "remember me" tick box is for!
I have learned something tonight

So, do I happen to be at different places right now?

Ted can you give me a list of all the IP's I've posted on for as long as you have them recorded! I leave college in a few weeks and I want to make sure I get rid of the cookies!!

The ones I'm really interested in are 10.10.*.*

You can post them up here if you like, it won't hurt no one, the college firewall could withstand a ICBM!!

Well, if you record IP's I'm assuming you keep them?!?! And surely a man of your....erm.....expertise would keep the IP's in a searchable database of some description or other!!

If not, you'd be an utterly sh*te adminstrator!

Yeah, I'm kidding, just the last week or so, we've been shifting round rooms and I need to find the computers I was on, if you got them it would a great help. That way I could do it from the one machine in any room in the college, instead of having to walk around and search all 10 floors and 1200 computers!! Like the Fat Lazy git that I am!!

Remind me never to work for someone who lives in Surrey!
All they do is drink Guiness, Eat Pies and drive Sports Cars!

Any Jobs going Ted?

If you find yourself with a spare 10 minutes in the next 2 or 3 weeks! Would be helpfull!!!!

Sorry, 10.*.*.* addresses are generic internal addresses and get translated at the gateway from your network. They may be what you see inside your network, but they will appear as something else externally.

Indeedy.. Ted will have the Outgoing IP adress from your firewall that's all, and it will be the same for all the PC's you used inside your network..

192 is a reserved Class C as well I'm afraid.

Actually, 192.168 as a whole network is, Stuart. Sounds like some sort of Network Address Translation going on, so there's no way Ted will know.

Plus, I'm sure our illustrious leader's got better things to do than clear up your mess !

194.83.70.73!!!

FFS, that is the college home page IP and I'm assuming that the college IP's run off similar through the firewall!!!

This college has got a serious about of IP's though!
