Brand new members & comps/events

We had the fiasco regarding the VW meet, and I've seen a fair few comps (e.g. GT1 370Z) with brand new members entering.

Is it just me who would prefer to see these being exclusive to 'real' PHers?

The competitions we run on the homepage are not just for the benefit of those who post in the forums, they are for all the users of the site including the lurkers and those who just read the news as well. Whilst they are not as visible as active forum posters, many of these people are still "real PHers" who read the site as much as you or me. These competitions give us a chance to engage with them and (hopefully) draw the right kind of people further into the community.
