I appreciate the notice. I think its arse that you cant respond to it and discuss the situation via email (you can hardly complain about another "where's my thread?" thread in here if people cant reply to you, can you?) and I think its arse that its just signed "Pistonheads". If you want to be a mod, stand by your actions and put your name to them. Its all a bit faceless otherwise.

Regardless, the implication behind the message is that the thread itself was acceptable, but the responses had degenerated to an unacceptable level. Well isnt that what "moderation" is about?

Otherwise, can I just go and fk up the Caturday thread with some rubbish (lord knows, Ive tried) and then wait for it to get closed AND deleted? Or is it more sensible to have a word with the people fking up otherwise acceptable threads?

Im not even THAT precious about the thread, just the rubbish method of moderation, which didnt seem like moderation at all. Just deletion.

The email you received did not contain a name or personal reply address because the topic deletion emails are automatically generated by the system, rather than being manually sent by the moderators.

With regard to why it was deleted rather than pruned, a topic about sex tapes on PH is only ever going to go one way and a topic of such little merit simply doesn't justify the number of hours the mods would have to spend deleting and re-deleting inappropriate comments.

I call it social comment on the how effective a marketing tool a public release of nude material is, for getting work in Hollywood. And I ask how it that compares with such classics as "How far would you drive for a shag?" and "Which cartoon character are you most likely to spank to?" Am I to blame for posting about actual people who are attractive, rather than Marge Simpson?

Nonetheless, I wont argue with your reasons. I just dont know why the email didnt say "We deleted your thread because we thought it was stter than the other st ones that are around at the moment."

It started out at a pretty low point and then descended further. The main topic of the thread was not good enough to justify to effort required to get it back to an acceptable level. Is that really so difficult to understand?
