Getting advice on adverts/websites - and thread deletion.

crossposted to the Business forum in the hope of catching the eye of the Mod who deleted the thread:

I posted a topic yesterday (in the Business forum - it was thread 761242) asking for some advice on whether or not some ad copy was too tongue-in-cheek.

Thank you to all that contributed your thoughts.

The post did not include any ads, just links to where the files were hosted on the web.

The thread has now been deleted. I've not been given any reason why. I assume that someone has interpreted (possibly because we're an automotive business) that we were doing so for our own commercial gain. Anyone actually reading the thread, and seeing how we responded to each piece of advice with an altered advert layout would probably have realised we were actually after the feedback.

There are plenty of threads still running on "what do you think of my website?" etc, all of which drive readers to look at the OP's advertising.

So what's the cut-off? Why is it ok for one poster to ask for feedback on their advertising, and not another?

I rather value the input we got, and I'd like to access that resource again, but I'm not looking to either abuse the system, or have more threads deleted or get banned.

Presumably there are mods watching this forum, their input would be welcome.

I'm not particularly after having the thread reinstated, the feedback I got while it was still up is what I wanted.

It's more knowing if I crossed a line, and if so how, so I get it right next time.
