I might be missing something but I don't seem to be able to find out what the difference is between a premium ad and a standard any ideas ?

Nope, no idea.

I recently advertised my Alfa (and then changed my mind and decided to keep it...) When I submitted the advert, it came up as a "Premium" advert, but I didn't pay anything and I don't know what extra I got for not having spent anything.

I think long term members get Premium ads anyway.

ETA Well it says £9 in the FAQ at the head of this feedback forum wink

I thought premium ads were dealers or such at first, and then thought people paid for them.

When I then advertised and sold my old car it gave me a premium ad for nothing.

Dont quite know what to make of it.

How long do you have to hang around to earn 'longterm' member status? Or is it a postcount thing?

There are three different types of ads in the classifieds: Trade, Premium and Standard.

Standard Adverts have up to 3 pictures and unlimited text and are free to everyone.

Premium Adverts have up to 9 pictures, unlimited text and appear before all the standard adverts in the listings. They cost £12 for most people, however anyone who was a member of the forums before 3rd July 2008 gets premium adverts free of charge.

Trade adverts are for dealers, or anyone who wants to sell a large number of cars via our site, but apart from that are mostly similar to Premium adverts.

Hope this clarifies things!
