4hero - what's he done wrong then?

Hello - just saying he's a valued contributor of the photography forum and wanted to know if his ban is long term or warrant a re-think?

Obviously if he's slept with a mods wife then fair do's and all..

He got pulled up and given a thread ban for a NSFW post on the animated gifs thread. He then started a thread on website feedback complaining and got very arsey with the mods who were discussing it with him, eventually ending with him telling one of the mods to "fk off" which (unsurprisingly) resulted in a ban being handed out.

A suitably apologetic email sent in the direction of Garlick is generally the best way of getting these things straightened out, so that would be my suggestion to him if he wishes to resume posting on PH.

I read the thread that got Neil banned and he was blatently baited by Gazboy, but apparently that's ok. His response was clearly tongue in cheek, I'm surprised any mod on here is so touchy.

Afraid I agree. If i'd suggested someones' posting style was similar to that of a 12 year old and got told to fk off in reply, I wouldn't expect them to be banned for it.

Clearly, and, demonstrably, previous posts had landed him in said hole, no doubt justifiably.

Absolutely. But I honestly have a higher opinion of the mods on this site than to imagine them as the sort of people that would say that sort of thing in the first place.

My 2p? Yes he was in the wrong, undoubtedly, but if the argument hadn't been with Gazboy but with e.g. one of the general regulars on here, he'd not have been banned.

...therefore is that not a mod getting personally invested in a case, and hence an abuse of power?!? Gaz is usually a decent chap, but I have seen him troll for the hell of it before (not a problem, lots of us do). Not seen (or maybe just not heard...) of him then using his modding powers when someone bites, though...


I know Paul G is already dealing with this, so I just hope Neil and he are having a sensible conversation rather than re-hashing old ground (for Neil's sake...).
