when you click on "What's New" or "Last 24hrs" would it be possible to have the threads you've contributed to (rather than just read) highlighted in red.

Possibly. I'm currently preparing a new (dedicated) server for PH which will have oodles of disk space for me to store this sort of stuff. If I can provide extra personalisation without consuming all the space then I will!
