Can't pretend I'm impressed with these new adverts appearing and knackering the layout of threads, old bean...

Is this by design or is it a slip up in coding?

I think it's called 'how to make a living out of running a website'.

These things aren't done for fun y'know!

Yep - I know this but I could do without the 1st post on a page being compressed to half it's original width. There must be a way to crowbar the ads in without interfering with the threads themselves.

The more I think about it, the more I think it must be a coding error...

Also, the ad with the Ginetta in it is a worthwhile one.. I'm might click thru and have a look later, but I don't need it to be in the middle of a thread...

This would detract from the likelyhood of me paying a membership fee (as suggested in another thread), which in principle I am in agreement with.

Petty I know, but there it is.

The first post in each thread being scrunched is a bug. The ads appearing in the body of the page isn't.

As has been said before, something's got to pay for this site and it's not going to be a membership fee. I take the view that if ads are relavent, i.e. not tedious ads for a credit card, mortgage or health insurance then a few scattered around are potentially of interest, not an irritation.

Ted,
Can't possibly complain about ads generally. Well, I could if they ever get overwhelming, but they certainly haven't so far. However....

The problem with these "in-thread" jobbies is they look a bit like they've been posted there by the adjacent poster (hope this makes sense). Ok, Ok, call me stupid for making this mistake, but the fact that it was my first thought suggests that others might as well (just assuming there is ANYONE as daft as me )

Just MHO. Keep up the good work, etc...etc...

Ted

You could always make the discussion box not so wide (sometimes difficult to read right across) and then put them vertically down the edge?
