widescreen: Unwanted

How come when I view threads like
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=55850&f=23&h=0
Does the horizontal scroll bar appear and make it a pain in the ass to view the thread?
Also have the same problem with page 2 of the "safety" thread in the Caterham topic.

Is it on of my settings?
"Enable automatic image resizing" makes no difference.

In the thread you mentioned, some cheeky bugger posted a pic, which is considerably wider than your browser's window. The page becomes the width of the window plus margins and cell padding. The same thing happens, when somebody posts a link without blanks, so the line does not break.

"Enable automatic image resizing" is only valid for pictures displayed without html (text)

Thought as much but never seem to notice it happening on my work machine.
Perhaps thats because Im trying to look busy!
