Pies matter?

Ok, so this is blatanly a newbie question but why does the rant section of the site have "Pies Matter" graphited over "Speed Matters" on the logo (top left)?

Tas got me intrigued it has

When the site first started up, it was thought that Ted was a fat pie-eating bloater who sat at a desk all day... turns out he isn't.

Then came this - www.weebl.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/b3ta/pie.html

... and "pie" seems to have stuck. Hmm... pie...
