Weird issue viewing posts with webshots pics

Whenever someone makes a post with a link to a pic hosted on webshots I always get the standard red-x box indicating my browser can’t find the pic. If however I quote the post and cut and paste the pic URL into a new browser window I can see the pic fine. To confuse matters further if I then close the new browser window, cancel the quote by using the back button I can then see the pic in the original post (and any replies that quote it) fine. Weird eh?
It’s not a major issue but I am curious to know what may be causing it or if anyone else gets this problem. I’m using IE6 on Win 2K Pro FYI. It happens both when my laptop is dialled into my ISP and when it’s connected to the office intranet. I can’t remember if it happens with hotlinks to any other image-hosting provider.

Just did another test: I can leave PH, go to other sites and come back to the thread multiple times within the same browser window and still see the pic OK. However if I kill my browser session and start up a new browser window it’s back to the red-x again. Quote, cut and paste the URL etc. and I can see it again !!! curiouser and curiouser …
