I think a lot more people would use the smiley if it wasn't such a pain in the arse to type out.

I suggest that you set up a second alias - :xx: or something - then when something really f:xx:ed me off I'd be much more inclined to use the emoticon.

Perhaps some of the other frequently used ones could be shortened too. , and could be more accessible for example. Edits to correct smileys would be reduced.
