This has just happened to me again. Tried to get to pistonheads.com site using favourites link and hand typing URL but I get the windows file dowload screen trying to download '/ from pistonheads[1]'.

It also happened after I went to the .co.uk site and signed in, presumably beacuse I got redirected to the .com site.

Hmm

I've got an idea that might not hold any water but...

Ted had an icon for ph that appeared in the address bar an your favorites list but it appears to disappear sometimes.

Maybe your copy of explorer is doing strange things with that?

Never seen an icon against the link, so don't think it can be that.

Interestingly I have just upgraded from ie5 sp2 to ie6 sp1 and it still happens.

I'm using IE5 SP2 without any problems. That's not very helpful though is it

If you add PH as a favorite you should get a "P" in a blue box next to it in the favorites box.

Are you running any ad blockers, firewall etc?

It's working OK again this morning, strange!

I have added ph.com to my favourites again and I have a P now, must have been somethng to do with upgrading and keeping the old favourites. I will monitor my P now and see what happens!

Cheers

Nik, are you accessing through a proxy server? I've seen this before - something to do with caching on the proxy, can't remember the fix as it was NT4 with MS Proxy 2.

Have a word with your system admin and tell them its affecting your work
