Not sure about the solution here - I use a bbc ticker and a couple of other sites for breaking news

However a great deal of general gassing is simply reprinted posts from news stories - whilst it provides volume - does it provide quality ?

I recognise there is a place for it in terms of the general oppostion to PC bullshit / and motoring stuff

What do others think

Well said!

I'm getting fed up of seeing news stories copied and pasted into the gassing station for no particular reason. Sorry Mrs Fish, but I find the majority of 'news' too depressing/frustrating/enraging and would rather avoid having it forced onto my screen. I'll go to news websites when I'm feeling too happy and need to read something depressing.

Nooo, not stopping!
Just reduce the news posted to quality stuff.

Don't stop Lisa, I like your amusing news stories. Saves me having to trawl around for them when I don't have time.

They are a choice selection too - I can't understand the complaints, just don't read them if you don't like them, there are plenty round here that do as you can see from all the replies you get Mrs F.

Keep up the good work I say

Mrs fish we went down this route a few days ago IIRC as Ted said then just don't post the stories that will lead to the smut. Dont stop posting

To everyone else if you don't want to read the thread it's only a click to go back

I thought thats what I had been doing..... I've not noticed any that have turned to smut recently.... but I will stop posting any for a while anyway..... unless the whim overtakes me too much that is

I don’t want to be a killjoy – as has been pointed out I don’t have to read any of them and that’s fair comment. Indeed from time to time the subject interests me so I am happy to contribute to the discussion

I suppose the purpose of this thread was see what others thought about it.

I guess sometimes I see other threads getting buried under the weight of news

Lighten up peeps. No major changes necessary except a few less of the BBC stories that aren't so motoring related or amusing. (seems the majority of PHers read the BBC and PH during their lunchtime!).
