Ted .... I keep on seeing the old site still, the one not updated since Friday 21st.

I've cleared my cache, and keep refreshing the screen, but it appears that 9 times out of 10 when I go to www.pistonheads.com I get the old site. Then, quite randomly, I'll suddenly get the new server (like now). Then it will disappear again for ages.

Any ideas ?!?!

(mind you, I might not be able to get back to read the replies .... )

Sounds like the DNS records have been cached somewhere. I'll seek advice.

Cheers Ted. It took me 3 attempts to get the new site this time It's probably something shonky on this heap of cr*p system the Post Office uses (where I work)

I don't think there's much I can do. I'll check with Carrenza.

Can you see it via www.pistonheads.co.uk ?

I had an odd thing this morning. I got the homepage. Went to the gassing station, then clicked back, and got an old homepage from the end of last week. Hit refresh, and it was the new one again.

Also, the gassing station doesn't remember when i've been on it. It's still saying whats new since 12:08, and i've been back at least twice since (as you probably know ). Probably just my computer trying to be too clever for it's own good on the first problem, but not sure bout the second. the internet settings my end are set to about as lax as they can get, so probably not a cookie issue.

Ok Ted, I'll live with it I guess. I'll try .co.uk as well, next time.

Any idea when you're planning on dropping the old server completely ?

Cheers !

I've spoken to Carrenza about it and they've investigated. It really is down to caching on your local network I'm afraid, not something we can do much about. The name servers on your network will refresh at some point, but we can't control when.

A foolproof means of finding the new site will be to access it via http://213.52.163.118/

Just as an aside - my machine rarely seems to register my "LAST VISIT" anymore when I goto the Gassing Station.

I'll investigate, but nothing has changed there for a couple of years. It can get confused if you visit too often
