Ted,

Is it possible to display the number of currently logged on users so that I can determine if it is worth trying to peruse the gassing station or if I should wait until later.

Ta,

Ian A.

Doesn't the "what's new" function provide a better indication, as there could be 200 users logged in but lurking?

Surely the content is the guide to that rather than how many people are reading it?

Are you referring to the fact that it will be slower when more people are reading it? If that's your concern then it should be address in the next couple of weeks when the new server comes online.

Yes it was a speed related problem. Just that at lunch times, sometimes it is fine and sometimes it takes hours. I just thought that if you counted the number of sessions and put the number on the Gassing page, I could wait until later if 300 people were all concurrently connected. If people were just lurking, presumably their session would time out.

However, if a server move is afoot, hopefully it won't be required.

Must add that it is quite a rare occurance for Pistonhead to be unbearably slow.

New server is twice as powerful as this one and should be online in about a fortnight.
