Currently it's based on the number of posts made. I need to jiggle the database around a bit so I can make it a function of how long you've been signed up for and the number of posts you've made.

The respect thing is twofold.

It's tied into the reviews system. I want to show how well respected someone's opinions are in there.

Also if an individual gets a high number of positive respect votes then I'll signal that within the Gassing Station. If there are a lot of negatives then I'll keep an eye on that individual.

I reckon it's to avoid the bods who've been members for ages, but with only a few posts showing up as newbies too... I've got to admit my main purpose for a reply is to find out what sort of a rating I get though!
