...Did you close the Subaru thread? There were some strong opinions expressed, and one or two "you're not big and hairy enough" remarks, but it was coming to a natural close having displayed exactly what I love about PH - the ability to appreciate cars of different marques and driving characteristics, and enjoy discussing them. I'm a bit puzzled.

To be fair, I think Simon was just erring on the side of caution given recent events (and probably trying out his new powers).

I've only just given him some guidelines on the sort of thing that demands a thread being closed. Given that he was being cautious on my behalf I'll open up the thread again without hopefully undermining the authority I've just given him!

Fair enough, I can imagine how difficult it must be right now after the recent storms. I'm glad to have it explained, though, as I was a bit surprised - as i said the thread is pretty much done anyway, but I wanted to know if i had misunderstood what's ok and what isn't. Looks like i hadn't. Long live PH!!

Sorry if anyone was a bit puzzled, but i agreed when someone had pointed out that there was a possibility of it becoming a bit of a slagging match i thought i would try out the 'Power of the Pie' on you lot after the way recent threads have gone.
I now have some guidelines and hopefully i will be less confusing to you.

It was not even coming close to a slanging match IMO i was going to start a similar thread to this one as i was very about it being closed , but instead i got some work done maybe thats the way to go in future
