New email log in on PH

Just had a pop up on the forum explaining about the new e mail log in system that's being introduced on here.

My email on here is about 20 years old, no longer can access it (pipex)

Had a quick look but can't see an option to edit the e mail address.

What do I do?

just a reminder/heads up/clarification that you don't actually need access to the email currently associated with your account (at least not until you need to reset your password/validate your email or something like that) to login once we move into the new login system. You just need to know which email is associated with your PH account as you won't be able to use your public username to login anymore and will need to input your email instead...

And I think many have already requested an email change but so far nothing has happened?

Not sure on the timescales though

I got an automated email on Friday evening to say that the e mail is only monitored Mon - Fri (office hours ) which is understandable.

So what happens if you need to reset your password but don't have access to the linked email account any more...?

Been using same iD detail since I joined with no problems ..Until this morning ! Auto complete showing user name with reset option ? I'd not requested anything of the sort, tried various possibilities and had to look for the original unchanged e-mail, No success, as I'm unwell ATM just gave up; thinking it possibly a problem with the site and I'd run out of patience trying to understand where I'd gone wrong.
Several hours later decided to try again, inadvertently having left the page open I noticed my User name top right ? Clicked forum Hey presto, logged in.
I'm sorry I have no recollection of the exact details shown in my various attempts to help matters but I'm curious what may have happened and more so might the same occur next time ?

I just put my email in and my saved password and all working fine.

My details were showing and were correct but still denied access, I was reluctant to start changing anything as it worked fine all this time; they obviously were OK too because nothing had changed when I discovered I'd left the page open and was logged on.

Is it supposed to "remember me" ?

Because is doesn't and there is not tick box to tell it to. I don't like logging in every visit.
