Idea - selling motoring-related items?

Hi PH. Have you ever considered a section for people selling motoring memorabilia?

With the target audience already ensconced within the warm embrace of your forums, it feels logical to have such sections available. Having some niche books and original sales brochures that I'd like to sell is what made me think of it, as I can't be bothered to mess with time-wasters on eBay or FB Marketplace.

Just a thought. £1 per ad, time unlimited. Easy revenue for you, and a safe space for us!

Thanks jeremy, I hadn't seen that before. Stupid question: how does one place a non-vehicular thread? There's no "Create topic" option and scrolling through a few pages had the majority of topics linked to cars or plates.

You need to go to the forum home - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/default.asp?h=...

Then scroll to marketplace, choose the appropriate subforum and you should be able to create a new post in there.

There are multiple forums within Marketplace:

• Non-motoring
• Parts and Plates

Also, from the Selling FAQs:

Can I sell something that isn't a car?

No. As part of a classified overhaul, you can no longer sell motorbikes, motorsport, parts & plates or other non-motoring items on PistonHeads from 1 December.

That's from the Classifieds, part of that overhaul was creating the forum sections detailed above

Having reflected, it still feels like a missed opportunity. No easy way to search if you want something. But perhaps it's been polled and people would prefer to keep using ebay!

Thanks for flagging, but yes, non-car related classifieds saw very little traffic/use so we couldn't justify the engineering resource required to maintain this, hence the new forums posted above.
