Unbalanced Moderating maybe?
Discussion
I had a post deleted from the Billy monger thread the other day, not the end of the world and without repeating the post I simply suggested he wasnt very good looking, and it really wasnt any really bad way of saying that either. Somebody else had a post deleted as they suggested his hairline wasnt great.
Neither of these are internet changing posts so it's really no big deal, however the only rule i can see that could remotely cover this would be the rule that states,
"Do not post material that could be deemed as offensive, annoying or upsetting."
Which could really cover anything at all at anyb time on pistonheads depending on who is reading it, my question really is if our two very mild posts relating to the gentlemans attractive appearance or lack thereof are considered so offensive as to be deleted and a warning emailed, why are there so many posts remaining on the thread clearly mocking and joking about the fact that the chap in question has no legs? Surely these are more offensive than hairline or uglyness posts are they not?
Just seems unbalanced. Is it a overzealous mod or a mate or Billy sticking up for him or is someones hairline or facial attractivness considered more offensive than mocking ones lack of legs?
A reply would be decent of the mod if they could please.
Thanks

Having just read the Posting Rules you will also have seen rule 23.

I suspect someone reported the posts in the thread and the mods removed anything that could be “mean”
Your post, on its own, may not have been normally deleted but if someone complains it draws attention.
Rightly or wrongly people will be sensitive to the fact that he lost his legs in a nasty accident. It could be argued that it’s also double standards to treat him any differently to a celeb who did not lose his legs but life doesn’t work that way.

Firstly sorry Jeremy, no i didnt see that far so apologies, and Caddyshack i do understand that the leg buisness could well be sensitive. Hence wondering why all the legless jokes remain but me saying he was not the best looking chap was deleted. No mention of legs in my post. The other chaps post simply said he had a bad hairline???Your post, on its own, may not have been normally deleted but if someone complains it draws attention.
