If a thread has been deleted wouldn't be possible to let the OP know? It just avoids silliness and reposting... (I'm fairly certain I've had one deleted BUT there's no record of it on my profile so I can't be 100%)

You did say, in your post, 'this should be in npe but I'm not allowed to post there' or similar, so the mods may have seen this as a bad faith attempt to circumvent the 'no new posters in npe' rule.
If you want a clarification from the mods, it may be worth 'reporting' your op in this thread, marking it fyi, to bring it to the mods' attention.

It’s frustrating as a new poster to have a subject that you believe is worthy of discussion but not be allowed to discuss it because it doesn’t fit in a forum that you can access.

Life’s too short to take it any further - I’ll just have to wait until I’m allowed to post in NPE.

If you click on the old link it redirects you to the "new" version in NPE, which was deleted shortly after being moved.

Unfortunately the catch all rule does indeed catch all. Some genuine posters have been stopped from using the section, but it’s also culled the waffle that NP&E had been swamped by.

It does seem that your post was deleted in error, it can’t be reinstated but if it’s any consolation, you wouldn’t have been able to post in it after it was moved anyway
