How do I do it? All I can see is an email option.

Thanks.

You've found the mechanism for sending PMs. smile

There is no other alternative than the email link via a member's profile page.

Someone I know got caught out by this and had their actual name in their email name. Someone then started using that Christian name in posts. PH denied there was a potential data issue.

Other way round, depending on settings if you decide to email someone their name would appear above the text box (along with your details), before you sent it.

Cobra kid’s real name is scrubbed out as is me email address.

Only if they have their name in their profile (as cobra kid does).

This isn't revealing anything that isn't already public.

Right. This bloke, and it wasn’t me, had his real name in his email address. This was revealed before the email was sent by another poster. There is (or was) a weird glitch in the system where the email address of the recipient was shown before the email was sent. Chap’s name was then used in a couple of posts. He wasn’t happy, complained and got rodded off.
