I was wondering how many of you out there have advertised a car on P/H and had the vehicle check scam, Typically what seems to happen is you advertise your car on here and then you get a couple of questions in the standard form "is this still available" nothing else You tell the person yes it's available then after a few hours you get an enquiry. It all looks ok to start with there are a few questions about the car which seem ok except that the Grammar is usually fairly poor. Anyhow after a few more messages they tell you that they like the car and have cash, Then they ask for an AV check so you tell them that it's HPI clear, They then come back to you and say i don't use HPI as i had problems with them in the past can you please supply a report from "vehiclesreports.com" Please obviously don't use this it is a scam and you part with some money.
I think it would be a good idea if the P/H started a Scam thread where people can post their experiences and also name and shame the people I realise they have made up names for there scams, (Legally can we post there names or Fake E-mail addresses) I am just hoping for the street wise people like myself will how these scams work and help those who could easily be conned and part with Money.

What the actual scam?
Are they essentially trying to get you to buy an over priced check from a website they own / get a referral fee from?
Or are they trying to take people for far more money somehow ?
