Hi,

I had a thread asking how much my car may be worth, it was removed..

Your topic 'Thinking of selling. What's it worth? Am I mad? Replacement?' has been removed for the following reason:
Sorry, but your post has far too much information for it not to be deemed an advert it also breaches the rule of posting No.12b

here's the t'c and c's, The link on forums and also the main site link to this

http://www.haymarket.com/terms-and-conditions

12.2 (no letters)
12.2. Only one entry per person and per household is permitted, spammers will be disqualified and automated entries are not permitted and will be disqualified.

I'm clearly looking in the wrong place...

Also, I really cant have a thread, in the oldest part of this forum about what the car may be worth? How can I even ask that question without describing the thing?

Well there's my problem, was looking for "terms and conditions" not "rules of posting" seen that link a million times but never SEEN it!

Regardless, it's a rubbish rule (for a PH punter), but I see why it's there now in context with the rest of the 12 section, to protect the commercial model of classifieds revenue.

Interesting that "thinking of selling" is also banned, again I see why, but there's loads of "what car can I replace my current car with" threads, which mention the current car...

So any "what car" threads, must not mention the current car... ??

No problem with What car thinking of selling my Tuscan, Chim Griff etc. But your post had far too much information about the vehicle you are intending to sell. Even if you had not been asking for a valuation it would have been removed as an advert.

Should you see any other thread/post that you feel breach the rules then please report and we will act accordingly. The reason we ask members to do this is because with the amount of threads/posts raised every day we as moderators do not read them all. smile

Hope that helps explain. smile

12 h. "Thinking of selling up," etc. threads are not allowed.
I'm totally confused now! wink

Guilty as charged, Valuation threads not allowed. That's precisely what it was!

But the rules say no "thinking of selling up", but you say it's OK!

help, my brain hurts! smile

Sorry, for any confusion, let me clarify I was primarily referring to a "What Car (next) threads (Car Buying Forum) If you mentioned that you are selling your (insert car name here) with no details whatsoever then it would not be deemed as an advert.
By giving what you are currently driving basically gives members some direction as to what sort of car you might like to consider as an alternative.

i.e If I were considering selling my Jaguar XKR then a member might suggest an Mercedes SL55 merc or similar. smile

Hope that makes sense?
