The Argument Thread 2017
Discussion
Sometimes threads go off topic or on a tangent and become little more than a school yard slanging match between two or more forum members.
This spoils the thread for everyone else, topics get closed and others miss out.
I've been the orchestrator of this myself when I questioned the rarity of a car I posted in the Supercars and Rarities thread with a moderator who was having a bad day/week/month/life.
So instead of trashing another thread why not have an argument here?
Keep it clean and forum friendly.
Don't expect to learn anything from it.
The usual forum rules apply so no threats, don't name or shame and refrain from something libelous or a defamation of character.
The one making the post is responsible for its content exclusively.
If you can see the thread is going off topic and potentially becoming an argument. Invite the protagonist or antagonist here via a link and settle any issue without wrecking the original thread.
Just an idea. It could work or be a complete waste of time. Either way it's the though that counts.

You'll then face an argument in the original thread and another in the 'argument thread' about the original argument. Net result, the internet crashes in irony.yonex said:

People can follow the fight or get back to the match.

Others can click the link and follow the argument or not and follow the thread.

There is already a system in place which is far better This is like taking two hooligans out of a football crowd and giving them a cage to fight in.
People can follow the fight or get back to the match.

It would just generate even more hysteria, imagine the volcanic levels of middle aged men fury as multiple arguments kick off all around them

Maybe, there wouldn't be a need to argue, if you can PROVE something that you claim to be fact.

Good afternoon. Did you miss the last post about that?Just sayin m9
In the original as posted by the cyclist version he suggested the Focus was doing at least 50mph and if he was doing twenty six as he claimed the clip itself shows the Focus was going twice as fast by covering double the distance in the same amount of time.
I never posted anything that used the word or made any claim to be "Fact" about the Focus's speed. You made that assumption.

The only fact I pointed out was the Focus failed to indicate and in the same situation I would have pulled out. The Focus would still be at fault for not indicating his intention to overtake.

Hi Liquid Knight,
Thank you for your suggestion, although a thread like this is not something we want on PH! I imagine it would be absolutely chaotic.
People are welcome to have a debate on the forums, but having an "argument thread" would invite people to argue unnecessarily, and that is not what the forums are for! They are to discuss cars and other matters with like minded enthusiasts, and we try to keep on top of the petty arguments and feuds that are bound to occur.
Cheers.

So, you are having a row in another thread and thought you'd make another thread to 'clean up' the forum. In the original as posted by the cyclist version he suggested the Focus was doing at least 50mph and if he was doing twenty six as he claimed the clip itself shows the Focus was going twice as fast by covering double the distance in the same amount of time.
