Would it be possible to create one?

We have loads of threads about relationships and divorce, questions about partners behaviour etc, there's a long running match.com one and a new one about escorts.

I though it might be a good idea to keep them together in one place to encourage more serious discussion and reduce the number of people just popping in to poke fun at the OPs.

Any sexual questions posted in the lounge seem to constantly be on the cliff edge of being shut. Perhaps if they were in their own sub forum it might keep them more constructive?

Seconded smile

It would need a sticky at the top being clear about what is acceptable - ie positive input only so it doesn't turn into NP&E

Sticky at the top? Are you some kind of pervert?

Joking. Like I said on that thread it would be nice if PH had a 18s plus (hidden) sub forum.

Annoying I'm betting this, or an 18+ Sub-Forum will never happen. PH/Haymarket don't want to dilute The Lounge for advertisement reasons unless the Sub-Forums become instantly popular.

I'm not sure we'd need it to be anything other than a separate sub forum. It's still covered by the same rules as the rest of the site. No pornography etc. Just hopefully sensible posts about stuff that seems to attract unwanted posters in the lounge.

There are plenty of other sub forums that thrive separately but never worked that well in the lounge.

Sex and relationships are central to our existence. im sure it would be a very popular subforum. If it's a moderating issue, I expect there would be loads of posters only too happy to help run it.

Hi Guys,

When creating new sub forums, we have to consider how much traffic they will generate, and I don't think this will have enough, sadly. Things like this, as you say, are covered in The Lounge fairly often. And even if we did create a sub forum there would be no way to keep any unwanted contributors away, unfortunately! So I'm afraid on this occasion, we won't be creating another sub forum!

Nonetheless, thank you for your feedback and contribution, we appreciate it!

Called it.

How much does PH/Haymarket profit from this forum? What is the additional cost of adding a new sub-forum. Are user-moderators paid? Did you just decide this on your own or was there a discussion about it at PH/Haymarket Towers?

I think it would be a very busy sub forum, everyone likes talking about relationships (and possibly sex) but fair enough.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

OK then...maybe rename the Health Matters to a the Health/Sex and Relationships forum?

Can you just not have a simple "This may contain adult content" before entering but leave it open.

I understand the whole idea is to drive traffic to the site.

No additional costs for adding another sub-forum, but The Lounge is for casual chat about all things non-car related, so there would be little point in having a sub forum for a sub forum! Our moderators are all volunteers and do a fantastic job, but trying to keep unwanted visitors (in each individual users view) out would be near impossible. I struggle to understand the relevance of your last point, but anyway, a discussion was had and this decision was made.

Cheers,

Jack

If only there was some code from , perhaps, SP&L, that blocked shiny new accounts.

How's the SSL for the login page coming along?

Then how do we have watch/finance/animal/home/food sub-forums? No reason not to split out Relationship/Sex into another sub-forum of the Pie and Piston.

My point was trying to get at the situation where almost every user suggestion is denied, or told 'we're working on it'. It's frustrating.

I don't understand you bringing up unwanted visitors? Surely more user-moderators is the answer. I know there would be plenty of applications should PH ask.

EDIT: Also I think changing the Health forum to a Sex and Relationship one too isn't such a good idea. So far the Health sub-forum is seen as a safer place on PH for people with issues like depression etc and adding sex (non sexual health) and relationship threads might muddy the waters and stop this. Plus people at work might not want to venture into a sex and relationship sub-forum at work if they have a health issue they want to post about.

When I read this thread earlier I had the very same idea, so a second vote from me.

Good moderation would stop this. I see no reason why these things can't be discussed openly outside of NP&E, and it honestly would probably good for the site overall traffic.

the problem is exactly the attitude of some in NP+E where people who with lived experience outside the heterosexual ( and consumption of fantasy lesbian or fantasy shemale porn) norm are villified called liars, and accused of all sorts of things by bigoted idiots

I also do not turst the moderation of this site after some of the things that have happened to members who dared stick their heads over the parapet and admit to be being LGBTQ.
