And waiting, and waiting...

It's really slowing things down for me.

Hi Tony

Can I have some information to pass on to the developers.
What machine ( mac / PC) are you using, what OS, browser and Skin are you using?

Blast. I saw this thread and got excited as PH has been hopelessley slow for me for the last week. It's getting to the stage that I'm going to have to do some work instead.

I'm on a PC, W7, IE9. Each PH page takes c. 5 minutes to load so it's taken me the best part of half an hour to navigate here and post this. It's only PH that it occurs on. Any ideas?

While the page is loading, take a look in the bottom of your browser bar, you should be able to see which site(s) is causing the delay.

No, nothing. The page freezes, and all I get is a banner with "www.pistonheads.com is not responding" at the bottom of the page. About 10 minutes later it unfreezes and I can read the page, but the whole charade is repeated if I want to navigate elsewhere in the PH universe.

No other websites have this issue, it's just PH frown

I had the page freezing on Sunday when I was browsing using my other laptop that doesn't have an adblocker. After waiting a bit of time the page finally responded and 10 seconds later a scrolling interactive banner advert appeared at the top right of the page. The advert was an "Ad Choices" one for "GroupOn" which appeared to be hogging a fair amount of memory / stopping the page from responding.

Browsed a number of other pages / threads on here and they all loaded quickly with no problems but then I opened another tab at which point everything stopped. When the page finally loaded / responded the GroupOn banner advert was on the page, leading me to believe that was the advert causing the problem.
