WTF - literally my entire screen with an "x out" at the top right so some form of popup within the same window.

And the advertisers wonder why adblocking is increasing massively.

Most people won't bother up until this kind of stuff annoys people to the point they go looking for a way to block it, realise it's easy and then tell their friends...

The straw that broke the camels back for me was musical ads (yes it was that long ago) but full screen covering would do if for me today.

I usually do but I had to enable them to get the file name of the driver I was hunting down. some forums are blocking the content if you run an adblocker/script killer

I get that the overlords at Haymarket now run/own/manipulate/ruin PH and as such they want to get some revenue - they need to finance all these unwanted design changes somehow. I have no issue with that

What I don't get is the proliferation of intrusive advertising that disrupts the experience of coming to PH in the first place.
