Started a thread in the Lounge last night in relation to me running a marathon for the first time and asking for any hints and tips people may have, which has been removed.

Why is that the case? If it was because I'd put a link to my Justgiving page on the bottom in case anyone wanted to donate then surely the link could have just been removed (although I checked the rules and didn't think including the link was in breach of anything).

You should have received an email explaining why your thread was deleted.

Sorry, I missed that bit - I'll put something in the sports section. Didn't get an email either.

However, could the link have not just been removed? I'd seen some replies on the thread earlier when I checked it that I planned to reply to when I got up which obviously I can't now see and don't know who they were from.

Unfortunately it is not as simply as removing the link: there were some replies commenting on donations, which would obviously have raised the question at some point as to how others could donate ...
