Regulars will know that there have been some nasty errors interfering with your browsing of PH recently.

Thanks to a report from a reader I finally nailed one of them today and touch wood things seem a little more stable (haven't been able to reproduce the errors on my development system until now).

From the looks of things there's another one lurking in there somewhere. If you do get an error message whilst in the Gassing Station (other than the 'Ooops... technical cockup' one) it would be greatly appreciated if you could send the details of the message to me.

Thanks peeps.

Excellent, Ted. What was it in the end. And did any of my rambling advice actually help?

Well I'm not out of the woods yet but there was one statement that attempted to move a cursor in the database that was failing consistently. The syntax of the statement was fine but MYSQL or whatever middleware is sitting in between was barfing big time and throwing exceptions.

I'm not getting anywhere near the number of exceptions that I was but I did notice some a few minutes ago so I suspect there's another piece of code out there misbehaving in a similar manner.

Thanks very much to Carzee, GregE240, Don and Dave Riddick for your valuable input. I don't think I'm out of it yet, but things seem to be improving and I've learned a lot from your suggestions.

Didn't see this until today - I only write odd bits of ASP but I'm usually pretty good at general systems troubleshooting if that's any use.

Recent change in circumstances means popping down to PH central wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Adrian. It's not actually my code that is causing the problem directly (how many times have you heard that before). I had a perfectly legitimate piece of code that was executing some SQL. The middleware I'm using was barfing though. Change the way I call the SQL and it works. What I need to know is where else there is code that is causing the exception.

Any experts on ASP exception (i.e. middleware components throwing exceptions) handling?
