On the blatchat forum they have a section where you can post items for sale for 'Nuke the Leuk' which is the Leukaemia Research Foundation. Basically, if you are clearing out the garage, you can give stuff away and the charity gets a small donation by the buyer.

Now, I hate all those do-gooding Rotarians and Round Table types, but doing the odd good deed wouldn't hurt, would it?

Maybe in the for sale section, we could have a category where items are sold for a Ted-chosen charity, I would suggest Prostate or Testicular Cancer as these are unique to blokes (yes, I did biology ;-) and most members are likely to be male. No sexism implied, but could be a good bumper sticker:

"Pistonheaders don't just talk bollocks.
We support them too"

Excellent.

Any other suggestions for how this might work?

Glad you like the idea fellas!

It could work on the site by simply being a category in the for sale section...

'Items for sale on behalf of [Testicular Cancer Charidee goes here]'

...which people could post to in the normal way.

And if we have any events, like an annual dinner or an auction, or sponsored numpty-cull, then we can also give funds to the worthy cause of bollocks.

Oh yeah - and we could sell the 'bollocks' bumper stickers, with some/all of the profits going to charidee.

I feel perilously proximate to a PH Whist Drive

Sponsored Numpty Cull would be quality though..

Maybe an "I'm a PH Bollock Benefactor" lapel pin or something for contributors..

Like the Annual Dinner idea chaps, that could be a go-er. It would have to be in London though, as all you Southern poofs (ahem !) won't venture above Luton for fear of suffocation or meeting inbred people. Well, as someone who escaped Essex, I assure you they are nothing of the sort. For the most part !
How about an auction as well ? First prize up for grabs is a day at PH Towers acting as one of Ted's ickle helpers, second prize two days sorry chaps, back to the Merlot - a bientot !

OT but - I was at the British Archery Championships a few years ago (a past life), in Lichfield, south of Birmingham.

Someone said to me (obviously I don't have much of an accent) isn't it ridiculous that we have to come so far north for our national championships?

So, hoping to make a point, I pointed to another Scot and told the bloke (truthfully), well he flew from the Shetland islands to be here.
Bloke says: where are they then?

Incidentally not a bad idea about flogging stuff for charity, don't think I could be ar$ed with an annual dinner in London tho'.

All the Ideas on here sound pretty good!

The Annual Dinner thing could work, though seeing as you London couldn't be any further south for us scots lot, how about we have it in erm.....The Shetland Islands! Then we all have to travel forever to get there!!!

Seriously though! London is too much of a slog! Birmingham (or surrounding area) I could live with, Stright down the M6 and bingo! It would have to be an all weekend do though! To make it worthwhile, if you know what I mean .....

Yep, annual dinner/piss-up type thing wouldn't appeal to all, but it might be a bit of a laugh to take over a Harvester and attach the salad cart to Nightmare's Diablo...

Obviously, any girls or ladies would be welcome.

Conversation at these kind of events normally deteriorates into talk of gudgeon pins and the merits of Optimax, so there may be a risk of terminal boredom, however ;-)
