Blocking posters to my threads

Would it be possible to have an option to block certain posters from my threads (such as on eBay, where you can block bidders)? Only quite often a thread is knocked off course by the same old posters skewing the discussion.

If they continually do it can't you just report them and explain the situation in the report message?, there wouldn't be much point in a block button as you could block anyone who doesn't agree with you which would probably make threads quite boring.

Or you could just take ownership of the thread quote the person you don't like and add this..



hopefully they'll get the message may even confuse some newbies

If we allowed everyone to block other users from threads, we'd very quickly descend into the online equivalent of thousands of tiny rooms, each containing one person shouting.

However if you have a problem with a poster on a thread, click report and explain why. Moderators do have the ability to ban individual users from posting on a thread, and it is used with reasonable frequency.
