Please do not repost their numbers. There's no point in the mods' deleting their posts if people just repost the #s

RustyMX5 - My man you are on fire
Back in the naughty nineties, I was a guest at a stag night, when the "entertainment" arrived, one of the other guests inserted a finger & suggested an oil-change was overdue ( he was an engineer). Wonder if it was Rusty, do you have red hair, Rusty? RustyMX5 said:
If you plan to go diving on this one, bring an aqualung and a good pair of goggles.

Same problem with both... They'll just create a new account and carry on as before.
The fact these posts and accounts are being banned quickly isn't dissuading them one iota.
There should be some sort of mechanism in place which will trigger a blocking device when certain words and/or numbers are posted by new people,The fact these posts and accounts are being banned quickly isn't dissuading them one iota.

Writing a script to kill, or re-direct new threads with "Call Girls" in the title can be done over a cuppa, shirley.
Your problem is two-fold.1 false positives. You don't want it affecting normal posters.
2. They'll just change the keyword. C all, ca1l, ca11, so on and so forth. You're forever in a losing battle with keyword lists.
Also i cringe when I hear "oh, I'll just write this little bit of code to fix it" because it will never be documented and someone else (usually me) will have to maintain it. Plus it takes time to do proper testing.
Wow - a tsumani today- though I see most had already been reported
I suspect a script to try to filter new posters with key words could be trivially implemented, but would be easy to work around
Is there anyway to "crowdsource" the moderation function to allow wider pool to hide posts (perhaps for review by the core moderators, to decide whether to delete)?

@Scrump - On average how many new members sign up every day & post their first post?
If it is only a very few, can you not place a poster's first post in to a "Holding Cell" as it were until it has been authorised?
This would then also give you an easy to monitor list of the new member spammers' first posts . . .

Thing is not all the profiles are new, spotted a few that are 1-6 months old but have never posted before spamming.
So,1. Go by post count not account age.
2. Kill any account that signed up a month ago but never posted and hasn't been logged into since. This will also stop the sleeper accounts that banned posters use to come back with.

I've only been to one stag night (yeah I know that's sad but I don't have many friends) and there was no entertainment like that that I can remember. And no, I'm not a testarossa.![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
I'm happy that people were entertained with the few comments I put up

Apart from the old school mods does anyone at the "new" PH actually care about the forums?
They wouldn't be here if we didn't. We're as fed up of this as you are! We're working on something more comprehensive that'll hopefully put a stop to this once and for all. Fingers crossed.Ben Lowden said:
