Advise needed Iphone connectivity?

Hello all,

Just taken delivery of a 2012 Gallardo SL I want to connect and play music in the car is this possible without changing the standard unit?

Congrats on the purchase

I'm sure my car has a usb cable in the glove box to connect to an apple phone, I'll check laters, I assume the source in the head unit is set to aux

I have looked and It is only the AMI socket in the glovebox but no cable for it, I ordered one from ebay and it doesn't work! no I'm a little stuck I really want to be able to play music from my Iphone whilst it charges via the OEM headunit ideally.


Does anyone have any ideas as to where i can get the correct cable? I use an Iphone 16 and would either be happy with a bluetooth AMI cable or AMI USB or USB-C

Just to add I don't know what generation AMI this one uses being a 2012 Gallardo!? I would search what Audi used in 2012 but you never know If Lamborgini followed the same timeline as Audi (id assume so though)

Though this won't help with charging your phone

I managed to find the correct part number so thats Perfect yous matches the part numbers, I have found an original equipment new old stock! so just ordered it

Update, I have got the wire now same part number as above, i can charge my phone but the car is still saying in the menu AMI - Not Supported

Any ideas as to why It wont recognise my phone? Iphone 16 I used an USB-C wire with the new AMI USB wire only charges my phone but doesn’t connect with the cars head-unit

Might be a mode or setting in the phone, as iOS in your phone will defo be different from 2012

Any tips on what I can look for in terms of settings on my phone, any idea what other options I might have for streaming music with the OE setup?
