The tyres on my Huracan are now 6 years old , but with plenty of tread left as the car has low miles .
Do owners of these cars stick rigidly to the advice from tyre companies to the effect that Supercar tyres should be replaced after 6 years ?

Every three weeks an identical thread about six year old tyres.

It isn’t just supercar tyres, it’s all tyres.

The tyres on my TVR are similar but no sign of cracking or deteriorating, possibly because it’s kept garaged so out of the sun. I’ll change them when it serviced next spring

Keeping tyres out of the sun definitely helps but unfortunately, visual inspections aren’t always enough. Unless you have access to a durometer and regularly take readings from your tyres, it’s hard to spot the deterioration that takes place.

I’m just about to bite the bullet and replace some 6 year old tyres at cost of £1000. My logic for not bothering to extend for another year or two is that the saving amounts to c.£20 a year per year of extension. And my safety and driving pleasure is worth a lot more than that so why take the risk?
