Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder - Engine Vent Foam
Discussion
I have a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, the foam seals in the engine bay have perished, Lamborghini have quoted me over £300 for two foam inserts, I can not see how two pieces of foam could be so much.
Lamborghini refere to the one of the left side as Cover Seal & the one on the right hand side as Gasket despite them both being the same, ironically Lamborghini priced two identical parts differently.
They are visible when you open the engine bay.
Can anyone advise me please if any other Gallardo owners have the same issue.
I am considering just cutting some foam and bonding it in or using draught excluder.
Any advice will be most appreciated,
Thank you

Hi There,
Thank you for your kind reply,
Yes that is them, do you know if there is a uk site that sells them?
To be fair that was the price for a pair, so about half the Lamborghini price. Thank you for your kind reply,

I wouldn’t have issues buying from the states,
Anything you make is not going to be a single piece. The price reflects the set up of the tooling and the low volume…

I wouldn't use a roll of foam, you can buy sheets which you can template and then cut out. Will be a single piece then I wouldn’t have issues buying from the states,

Hi Matt,
Yes I agree, a single piece of foam with a peel off adhesive backing will be the way forward. I have since made a cardboard template, just looking on line for some foam sheets.
What colour is your Gallardo? Mine is a black spyder with a manual gearbox, I love it, bought it in 2014 from Lamborghini Pangbourne, had a big fall out recently with HR Owen sadly they don't care about the older cars or their owners, all they are interested in is trying to sell new cars, don't even allow them to service my Lamborghini anymore.
Fitted a new battery to my Lamborghini this year, very easy if you have not done it yet.

Really pleased with it.Yes I agree, a single piece of foam with a peel off adhesive backing will be the way forward. I have since made a cardboard template, just looking on line for some foam sheets.
